We’re approaching the long weekend and there are a few things you need to know if you’re coming to Dubrovnik.
Are the stores open?
All Dubrovnik stores, souvenir stores and boutiques are open all day during the tourist season, and there’s no difference between weekdays and weekends or public holidays.
Some supermarkets (Konzum) outside the old town are open until 1:00 pm. All other supermarkets are open until 9pm.
Souvenir stores, jewelry stores and galleries are open all day.

Changes to working hours from July 1
However, these are the working hours in force until July 1, 2023. On that date, a new law will come into force in Croatia, and stores will have to be closed on Sundays and public holidays. Stores are entitled to have 16 working days outside Monday to Friday for the whole year. It is up to each store to choose the days on which it will be open.

Pharmacies
There are three chemists in the Old Town and several outside the city walls, should you need to buy medicines during your stay in Dubrovnik. However, not all of them are open on weekends and public holidays, and only two of them work in shifts – in the Old Town and in Gruz.
To find out which one is open on any given day, visit http://www.ljekarna-dubrovnik.hr/.
Restaurants and bars
Restaurants and bars are open every day of the week and on public holidays. Some restaurants are open for breakfast, but most open from 10:00 onwards.
Cafe-bars are open all day, serving coffee from early morning until late evening.
