Port of Dubrovnik – ferries, catamarans and boats

With the expansion of trade and the arrival of the railroad, Dubrovnik’s Old Port could no longer meet the needs of cargo transportation. This led to the development of Gruž Port, which initially served both cargo and passenger vessels. Today, the Port of Dubrovnik is exclusively a passenger port, welcoming up to three mega-cruise ships daily, ferries, and catamarans linking Dubrovnik with Croatian and international destinations.

Ranked third in the Mediterranean for one-day cruise passengers and tenth worldwide, Dubrovnik’s port remains a key hub for maritime tourism.

Where is the Dubrovnik Ferry Port Located?

The Port of Gruž is situated 3 km west of Dubrovnik’s Old Town, in a bay between Lapad Peninsula to the south and Srđ Hill to the north. The port area offers:

  • An international border crossing
  • Restaurants & cafes
  • A large shopping center
  • Car rental services & travel agencies
  • Dubrovnik’s main bus station (making onward travel convenient)

📍 Address: Obala Ivana Pavla II 1, 20000 Dubrovnik
