Experience the Magic: Moto Santas in Dubrovnik

Every city in the world has its own unique traditions and customs, and Dubrovnik is no exception. One of the city’s most heartwarming Christmas traditions is the Moto Santas, a delightful spectacle that brings joy to the hearts of children and adults alike.

This year, Dubrovnik celebrated its 20th Moto Santas parade, a testament to the unwavering spirit of the Libertas Riders motorcycle club https://bit.ly/4ayetM9 , the driving force behind this incredible event. The club was officially established in 1999, making it the city’s oldest motorcycle club and one of the first registered in Croatia.

In addition to their many other charitable endeavors, such as the Moto Masquerade and the Memorial Ride, the MK Libertas Riders have been organizing the Moto Santas parade every year on St. Stephen’s Day, bringing smiles and candy to the youngest Dubrovnik residents.

On December 26th, the streets of Dubrovnik come alive with the familiar sound of motorcycle engines, as a procession of Santa Claus-clad riders embarks on their heartwarming journey. Despite the absence of helmets, the police look the other way, as they recognize the genuine spirit of giving that drives this unique tradition.

From their headquarters in Gospino Polje, the Moto Santas embark on their merry ride, their engines rumbling in harmony with the cheerful tunes of Jingle Bells. As they enter the Old Town through the Ploče Gate, the echoes of their ride are met with the excited cheers of children and the warm applause of Dubrovnik’s residents.

Upon reaching Stradun, the city’s main thoroughfare, the Moto Santas make a grand entrance, riding through the Circle of Honour, a symbolic gesture of respect for the city that has embraced them with open arms.

Despite their tough exteriors and rebellious reputation, these bikers have hearts of gold. Their generosity extends beyond the delight they bring to children on St. Stephen’s Day, as they organize donations for children without proper parental care, bringing them gifts and providing essential household items.

This year, the Moto Santas’ benevolence reached even greater heights, as they organized a donation to support the treatment of a young girl battling a rare disease. Their selfless act of kindness serves as a reminder that beneath the rugged exteriors lie compassionate souls who truly care about their community.

So, the next time you see a group of bikers roaring through the streets, remember that they are not just about adrenaline and speed. They are also about spreading joy, giving back to their community, and embodying the true spirit of Christmas.
